I hiked more mountains than I can count in the short 8 months I lived in Denver, CO. For anyone who knows Colorado, understands how drastic the weather can be. One minute it’s sunny, the next it’s snowing! I learned the hard way by killing all of my house plants one afternoon, I put them out on my porch for some sunshine, a couple of hours passed, and boom they were icicles- all dead. (face palm) This little adventure below, was basically the definition of a bipolar-weather-in-Colorado-kind of day. We experienced ALL of the elements. Okay, not snow, but huge gusts of wind during an epic storm, a serious downpour of rain, plus all of the changes in light from day to dusk as we traveled both up and down the mountain. I shared a few of these images back in 2017, but not many.
After revisiting this gallery in 2020, and editing a few more shots, I now remember why this became one of those personal projects that I never finished. They felt “imperfect” to me, the fading light, the wind, the rain, the blur, the blemish retouches that I felt pressured to complete, and never had the time to do etc.
But holy crap! How beautiful are these imperfections? As artists we are constantly learning, growing, and perfecting our craft. I shoot completely different than I did in 2017, and I edit completely different too! Now as I look at these I’m able to appreciate the intimate moments happening and all of the “imperfections” as well which truly give these photographs character.
Ditch the poses, there will be tons of giggles, movement, and fun! We’ll start our session out with a piggy back ride on your partners back, story telling, or a game of rock paper scissors. I might tell you to whisper something into your partner’s ear, or sniff it like a puppy! By giving prompts you’ll ease into this process like it’s no big deal! It’s going to feel like I’m not even there taking your photo! I promise to prepare you for what’s about to happen, every step of the way. I’m here to give you an unforgettable experience that will 100% reflect in the lasting memories you get to take home. I call North Georgia home, however i’m always up for a little exploring! Where do YOU want to go? Let’s get to know each other- and talk about what you’re dreaming up!
