Prospect Farms is one of my favorite locations to have a family session. This weekend I photographed this sweet family in their oh- so- cozy greenhouse!! Prospect Farms is a small family run farm in the suburbs of Georgia. My favorite thing about shooting at this location is that it supports a small business! Prospect has everything from a greenhouse, to open fields with wildflowers (season depending) as well as adorable set ups during the spring and Holidays. There are so many options which makes Prospect the ideal spot for a family session. (I’ve gotta mention that they have the BEST light during golden hour, too) A photographer’s dream!!

Now, a 30 minute session is quick, and here are three things that I always try to focus on to make sure we are getting the absolute MOST out of our session, even if it’s short!

1. Y O U R N E E D S

I try to get a good idea of what you’re wanting from your session before we meet so we aren’t talking too much during our session. As much as I love to talk with my clients it does take away time from our shoot. So for 30 minute sessions- I try to start as soon as possible + that will reflect in your gallery.

2. V A R I E T Y

My mind is always thinking, how many poses, angles, or different locations can we use in the time that we are together? This will make for a diverse gallery with plenty of options!

3. B A B Y -L E D C A N D I D S

Sometimes our little friends have their own plans for our session and get overwhelmed by the being in a new place. When baby is feeling this way that is my cue to take those curious candids of whatever he/ she wants to explore! I try not to pause too much unless little one is REALLY not feeling it. I want to make sure we are getting as much as we can capture.

Ditch the poses, there will be tons of giggles, movement, and fun! We’ll start our session out with a piggy back ride on your partners back, story telling, or a game of rock paper scissors. I might tell you to whisper something into your partner’s ear, or sniff it like a puppy! By giving prompts you’ll ease into this process like it’s no big deal! It’s going to feel like I’m not even there taking your photo! I promise to prepare you for what’s about to happen, every step of the way. I’m here to give you an unforgettable experience that will 100% reflect in the lasting memories you get to take home. I call North Georgia home, however i’m always up for a little exploring!
